The Magic Hole
This project was developed during my Spring Internship, where I had the opportunity to apply my skills in a professional setting and contribute to real-world design challenges.
Problem: The challenge was to create a cohesive set of visual assets to promote The Magic Hole, an investigative documentary focused on the controversial demolition of the Austin Convention Center. The goal was to capture the essence of the documentary while encouraging donations and press engagement.
Solution: The design centered around bold, eye-catching visuals that echoed the gritty, impactful nature of the documentary’s subject matter. Using a bold typeface paired with a "dirty" effect that resembled dust and destruction, the graphics communicated urgency and tension. Engaging sentences and visuals were crafted to drive attention and evoke curiosity.
Role: As the sole designer, I led the visual design process across various platforms. This included designing social media content, flyers, and cinema screen ads for the documentary. I worked closely with the team to ensure the visual assets aligned with the documentary's theme and tone, creating a compelling narrative through typography, texture, and design elements.
